When you see the error code 'E3', it is indicating that there is either a fault with the indoor fan motor or there's a problem with the indoor PCB.
To check if the fault problem is with the indoor fan or the PCB you can do the following:
- To check if there's anything wrong with the indoor fan, you'll need to first isolate the unit from the power, open the air vain and spin the fan blade by hand - the fan blade should spin freely with no resistance and no noise. If the fan does not spin freely or a grinding noise is heard then the fan motor needs replacing. To get a new fan motor you can contact us via email at info@airconditioningcentre.com or call us at 0370 3344 556.
- To check if there's anything wrong with the PCB, you'll need to spin the fan blade and check if it spins freely. If it does and it isn't making any (concerning) noise, then there's a fault within the internal PCB. The PCB is connected to the fan motor with 2 connections; one connection is for the power supply, the other connection is the communication line between the fan motor and the PCB. Check if the fan motor is connected firmly to the PCB. If there's nothing wrong with the connections then the indoor PCB needs to be replaced. To replace the PCB you can contact us via email at info@airconditioningcentre.com or call us at 0370 3344 556.
ANY WIRING OR CLEANING OF CONNECTIONS REQUIRE THE POWER TO BE ISOLATED BEFORE WORKS COMMENCE.
